I'm not sure.  It's not a parenthetical (bracketical :) statement.

    Then we may remove the blank line above, as Akim suggested.

I'm not sure.  Still seems to me a blank line is a reasonable separation
between the figure and the caption.


I think what we have is good enough for now.  Instead of spending more
time tweaking the output for uncommon cases, let's move on.  We can
revisit it later when more people have used (and complained about :) @float.
