Indeed.  Thanks for reporting.  I pushed a fix.

Yes, of course.  It's not a bug.  There's no other way to list tar
archives (short of reading the entire content into the memory, applying
each incremental operation sequentionally and outputting the result at
the end, which is obviously inacceptable).
