[Bug-tar] cannot savedir: invalid argument

Hi, I am having trouble taring a folder on one of my sites, when I try to run the following command I get the errors bellow. Command: 'tar -cz -f "archive.tgz" "i"
Errors:
failed with return code 2 and error message
tar: i: cannot savedir: invalid argument
tar: error exit delayed from previous errors.

The /i/ dir has 53352 .gif images inside.

Could anyone advise me on this matter.
