[Bug-tar] Defect in TAR

This is regarding the tar version 1.13. Initally we were using tar version 1.11 for backup in Windows 2k systems, but it was not able to backup files for more than 2 GB. However this problem is fixed in 1.13 but a new problem arose. With 1.11 tar version we are able to create tar files with the command

 

tar -cvf C:\\MyBackup\\Backup.tar \\BackupFolder

 

This directly creates a tar in C:\MyBackup folder and the contents of tar is the BackupFolder but the same command is not working for 1.13.

Simillarly if we have a connection to machine like \\10.77.21.130\D$ then i can directly create a tar file in this location by running this command

 

tar -cvf \\\\10.77.21.130\\D$\\Backup.tar \\BackupFolder

 

This command is also not working in the 1.13 version. Is there any other way with new tar version to create the tar file directly in the destination as stated above in the examples.
