Hello,

I've been playing with TAR,   it seems it cuts off any paths longer than 100
characters when it does an extract from a tar file.
I've seen this on many occassions,   is someone still developing it ?  I'd
be happy to fix it if there is no one that is working on it still if that's
possible.

for example if the file  image001.gif was at the end of a path  and the
characters   ".GIF"  were 97 98 99 100   for "."   "G"   "I"   "F"
respectively 
then the resulting extracted file would be   "image001.gi"
