As far as I can see the licenses are no longer kept under /gd/gnuorg on fencepost (see below for details). So, once the webmasters do their thing, I suppose that should be enough.

Suggestion: Publish the licenses and their revision histories on Savannah, as GNU source code is published. The licenses are the crown jewels of the GNU project, if you ask me, and their source code should be treated carefully, like other source code is.


Here are the details about licenses on fencepost:

Licenses were removed from /gd/gnuorg on 2007-02-21 by John Sullivan. The command 'rlog fdl.texi' says:

revision 1.8
date: 2007/02/21 18:23:19;  author: johns;  state: Exp;  lines: +1 -452
In the interest of keeping the licenses in one and only one place, we are leaving just a placeholder here.
