It is likely that when you moved the file you lost the original
ownership and permission of the file. It needs to be owned by root
and suid-root in order to function. You will need to be root to
perform the fix if that is the problem.
chown root:root /bin/su
chmod 04755 /bin/su
ll /bin/su
-rwsr-xr-x 1 root root 14184 Jul 12 2000 /bin/su
