Was not an issue way back with readline-6.3 :
That's interesting, since the only difference is autoconf-2.68 vs. the
current autoconf-2.69.

Does the configure log (config.log) have any more detail about what
configure is doing? The "prerequisite headers" thing is clearly nonsense.
