Hello,

Because of a new contract I have picked up, I am able to start some
work on Radar.

Specifically my current challange is to consider how to keep from
having to make Visio diagrams for networks.

I am approaching this like so:

1) How do I collect the data about the hosts? How do I know which
hosts to map?

2) How do I store this data in a form that's easy to retrieve?

3) Once I have all of this data in memory, how do I lay it out in a
useful way? I am willing to accept (for now) that this may be manual.

4) When the hosts are laid out in a particular place, how do I route
the lines in an asthetically pleaseing, but still useful way. (This
one should probably *not* be manual)

5) Through what media is this available? PS/PDF? Web? Gtk? Mozilla
is now at the point where its SVG and DOM2 support make it worth not
considering anything other than that and print. Specifically, You can
click an icon, and feed that information back to Javascript to allow
you to drag it around. You can click save, which could then report
that config back to the web server.

I'm not even sure if anyone is still subscribed to this list. =) I
will keep notes posted here for reference, and for historical value if
others should choose to join in.
