   Another question, what device-map lib should I install if needed?
   I find that my system is already installed with
device-mapper-1.02.28-2.el5/device-mapper-event-1.02.28-2.el5/device-mapper-
multipath-0.4.7-23.el5.
   Are these the right device-map lib ?

You could try adding the "--disable-device-mapper" configure option so
that device mapper is not used.

E.g.,
./configure --without-readline --disable-device-mapper
