3) a short usage message, which is printed when an invalid option is given (instead of printing the entire help message, which is too much information).
Using argp.h instead of getopt.h automatically provides a --help listing from the defined command line options; a short usage information; a small pointer to use --help whenever a wrong parameter is encountered; --version information; etc..
