This is the typical symptom I pointed out many times when parted changes
the geometry and _also_ shifts the partition start. 

This issue doesn't happen so often (of course with all kernels too) but
frequent enough I had to write a findntfs utility because neither
testdisk, nor gpart, nor parted could find reliable the old partition
starts. When people recreate the partition by fdisk using sector as the
unit then things start to work again.

The above problem means either the geometry issue wasn't solved or not
completely or this is another, fat related problem.

First try to figure out where your FAT really starts and if it's indeed at
the right sector, pointed by the partition table, then apparently the fat
resizer corrupted the data.
