To whom it may concern:
This is a copy of the message my Knoppix v3.3 Live CD gave to me when I
entered the "qtparted" command while my PocketDisk 128MB USB memory disk was
attached.
version (1.6.4) and the following message:Assertion (ped_
geometry_test_equal (&part->geom, &old_geom)) at ../../libparted/disk.c:1681
in function ped_disk_get_max_partition_geometry() failed.
Error: msdos disk labels do not support partition names.
Error: Could not detect file system.
Error: msdos disk labels do not support partition names.
Warning: The partition table on /dev/sda is inconsistent. There are many
reason s why this might be the case. Often, the reason is
that Linux detected the BIOS geometry incorrectly.
However, this does not appear to be the case here. It i s
safe to ignore,but ignoring may cause (fixable) problems with some boot loader
s, and may cause problems with FAT file systems. Using LBA
is recommended.
I'm presuming this would have been fixed in Knoppix v3.4. Or is this error
possible because I utilize my disk between Windows, Macintosh and now Linux
machines.
Thank you in advance,
