Thanks, that is exactly what I needed to know.  Is there a note about
this in the documentation or help?

Ok, the reason I thought it might have done some sort of
"reorganization" is because it took a _long_time_.  Like almost an hour
and a half.  Do you have any idea why it would have taken so long simply
to resize a FAT32 filesystem from 8->20GB?  PartitionMagic usually only
takes such a long time when it is required to shuffle data to different
parts of the partition, which is why I was nervous that the partition
was overwritten.
