bug ?

Hi,

My system has the following hardware configuration :

P-III 500 Mhz
Intel SE440BX2 Mother board
Samsung 20GB IDE HDD

I've tried installing some Gnu/Linux distributions which uses parted as 
partitioning tool, namely SuSE(8.1), PLD and Knoppix. However, parted was 
unable to detect any existing partitions (windows C drive with less than 6GB)  
and it always showed that the disk was empty with a -1.

Whats wrong ? Please help.
