GNU Ocrad is an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) program based on a
feature extraction method. It reads images in pbm (bitmap), pgm
(greyscale) or ppm (color) formats and produces text in byte (8-bit) or
UTF-8 formats.
Ocrad includes a layout analyser able to separate the columns or blocks
of text normally found on printed pages.
The homepage is at http://www.gnu.org/software/ocrad/ocrad.html
Changes in this version:
* The new option "-E, --user-filter", which allows the use of
user-defined filters, has been added.
* Uppercase 'Y' with acute and 'Y' with diaeresis are now recognized.
* Uppercase 'S' and 'Z' with caron are no more misrecognized as
lowercase.
* The new chapters "Introduction" and "Filters" have been added to
the manual.
* The testsuite now checks the recognition of 11 more characters.
