anyone have nucurses 6 and gpm working?

Hi Guys

As I was just saying I am delighted with the mouse extension. It would 
be nice to have 256 colors at the same time but I can manage.

Now that I can write programs and not have to worry about clicks in 
columns beyond 223.

However I would also like to run on the Linux VT and here I don't have 
to worry about clicks beyond 223. I didn't set my terminal to xterm-1006 
but rather linux. I am planning on using this for use with Raspberry PI 
and Beagle board.

I compiled ncurses with a variety of flags including --with-gpm

I see the gpm cursor and I can copy and paste with it but my application 
is not responding to mouse clicks. I have used dpkg-reconfigure  gpm  
and I haven't been able to get things working with ncurses

Has anyone else had any luck?
