Yes, I'm aware of PDCurses.  I also question the 90% figure...

I can tell you that PDCurses doesn't compile on my Mac OS 10.4.3 machine out of the box :( This makes me somewhat concerned about its portability. Other things that concern me about PDCurses:

I'm not entirely sure whether pdcurses is a live project -- that is,
whether it is being actively maintained.

(I'd started looking at it, and posted a couple bugs to the sourceforge
page, and they never generated a response -- I don't know if that
was a problem with my bug reporting, but, there are some by others
as well.)
