Probably. That did not help me because I had a requirement to use as few extra tools as possible via cygwin and we already used Gnu make in other areas of the project where performance was not critical. My intention was to provide profiling information by default in our build and execution framework to be able to easily identify bottlenecks.

The dependency graphing feature was also present in the branches I was planning to upstream since it allowed me to check if the dependencies in our build system were incorrect from a logical PoV (started with a sequential build)
