Details:

I have a fairly large make code. It often produces syntax error of type  ***
missing separator.  Stop.

We have a large LSF build farm and the error appears on some hosts, but not on
the others (this is why I say often). I finally built a purified make 3.81 and
was able to observe ABR (array bound read) and UMR (Uninitialized memory read)
errors.

I cannot really send you a test case since the sources are proprietary. I
attach the .pv file just in case.

Let me know if more info is needed.
