GNU make does not support any special behavior for a ".INIT" target.
It's treated as just a normal target.

GNU make does not support this syntax for invoking shell commands.
You are attempting to use features which are not portable, and which are
not implemented in GNU make. Please see the GNU make manual, especially
the section on "Incompatibilities and Missing Features", for more
information.
