Actually that seems already in e.g., (info "(mailutils) Level Syntax")
Where we read:
Additionally, a comma-separated list of level specifications is allowed
after the dot. For example, the following
specification:
acl.prot,!=trace9,!trace2
Which I would write like e.g.,
--debug-level='mailbox.prot,!trace9'
so the user sees where it is supposed to go.
