According to Wikipedia, Mac OSX 10.4 "Tiger" was released in 2005, was superseded in 2007, and got its last security update in 2009 (with another security update in 2009 no longer covering it).

Its successor 10.5 "Leopard" is the last version released for PPC, in 2007.

10.4 is the last version supporting some "Classic" system calls IIUC, so since 10.5 is the total end of line for PPC, there might be some incentive to stick with 10.4.

Nevertheless I don't see that the discontinued PPC line is important enough for us to bend over backwards more than the last released version.

I don't know who of us actually does the MacOSX ports and how much work would be involved here, and we might consider making a brief announcement on the general user list to see if there is anybody around for whom moving to 10.5 is indeed not an option.

But I am strongly inclined to declare the support for MacOSX 10.4 ended. I would be surprised if we actually have the platform and skills available for making sure that the compiled system will work with 10.4, and unless somebody steps up to fill this void (presumably because he is running this platform himself), I see no point in pretending we could support this usefully.
