So I understand this correctly,
• does this happen when attempting to run gs or when attempting to run 
lilypond? 
• If lilypond,
° is it a specific file,
° is it all files?
 • Does this happen only when trying to use LyX or does it happen when trying 
to use the GUI lilypond editor?
 • If it happens when using the lilypond editor,
 ° does it also happen when trying to use lilypond from the command line?
