LilyPond won't install on Intel MacBook

Hi, and thanks for making this software available
to us poor musician types.

Just downloaded and tried to install the latest
Intell version for Mac, 2.10-2. It decompresses fine,
but during the Compile-Typeset File process, I get an
error code saying that the it's the wrong version, and 
that that I need to update to version 2.60 in order
to update to future versions of Lilypond.

This confuses me, since I believe I'm already installing
the most recent version available on your website. If 
you could help me, I'd sure appreciate it.
