Hi folks,
I've been using the docs for Lilypond 2.4.2 (update: this is also
relevant to the 2.5.12 docs) and I have come across one or two things
that could be tweaked.
First, in section 3.3.3 "Piano centered lyrics" there is a sample
template. The \layout{} section contains the lines
\layout {
\context { \GrandStaff \accepts "Lyrics" }
\context { \Lyrics \consists "Bar_engraver" }
}
I would suggest that the line
\context { \GrandStaff \remove "Span_bar_engraver"}
be added to this section. Otherwise bar lines extend through the lyrics,
which I believe is undesirable!
Second, the third paragraph in Section 5.11.2 "Entering lyrics" contains
a note about certain syntactical idiosyncrasies involved when changing
the LyricText defaults. Would it be possible to repeat this note in the
LyricText Program Reference? I spent a huge amount of time trying to
figure out why this ordinarily simple step wouldn't work, and I only
came across the answer by chance when looking up something unrelated.
Do with these suggestions as you wish!
Thanks for your time folks,
Cameron Horsburgh
