It looks like your editor automatically removed trailing whitespace in
several places...

While this is probably a good change per se, it is usually considered
bad practice to commit unrelated whitespace fixes in the same patch...
Would be nice if you could isolate it?

Also, please submit your .gitignore additions in a separate patch as
well.

Git (especially "git add") has various features that help with splitting
up changes into multiple commits :-)
