Neither really...

I can't honestly say that I'm working on netrik... I pretty much lost
motivation around summer 2002, when several featureful text mode
browsers popped up pretty much from nowhere; and it went downhill from
there. For the last couple of years, I've been doing a bit of hacking
once a year perhaps.

I can't give up on it alltogether though: I consider the user interface
more convenient, even in the primitive state it's still in; and I'm
trying to convince myself that this makes it worthwhile. Turning it into
a full-blown testbed for my advanced user interface ideas would stress
this point of course -- but before I would even want to start on this,
it would need some serious work first, to make netrik generally usable
at all...

My excuse is that before doing serious work on my hobby projects, I
should finish my thesis first... However, considering how much time I
waste with other stuff every day, this is really a rather poor excuse.

The other plan would have the advantage that it would be built directly
on top of the stuff I'm doing for my thesis... Essentially, I'm telling
myself that the KGI stuff is part of the big puzzle -- so I don't have
to admit that it's mostly pointless ;-)
