I was writing about `-z relro', which was introduced on 2004/05/11.
That means that it was not in binutils-2_15-branch and Michael Banck used
binutils-2.15 until recently for building the Debian GNU/Hurd packages,
because of binutils-2.16's test suite failing (which is still not fixed,
by the way).

I'm quite confident that GNU/Linux on x86 doesn't use
sysdeps/mach/hurd/i386/init-first.c.
