Hi,

I am trying to install gnu/hurd k8 mini-iso on my
laptop (ibm t41 - Intel M 1.4 GHz, 512 MB, 40 GB HDD).
I have a 5 GB partition on /dev/hda4. After booting
from the iso, i did the following:

1/ select keyboard layout
2/ activate swap
4/ initialize gnu/hurd partition
6/ install base system

On reboot, I enter grub (version 0.94, which is
installed to hdd) and go to the prompt. I do the
following:

grub>kernel (hd0,3)/boot/gnumach.gz root=device:hd0s4
-s
  [Multiboot ...]

grub>module (hd0,3)/hurd/ext2fs.static
--multiboot-command-line=${kernel-command-line}
--host-priv-port={host-port}
--device-master-port=${device-port}
--exec-server-task=${exec-task} -T typed ${root}
$(task-create) $(task-resume)
  [Multiboot ...]

grub>module (hd0,3)/lib/ld.so.1 /hurd/exec
$(exec-task=task-create)
  [Multiboot ...]

grub>boot

The system just hangs here. I don't get any output at
all. I would really appreciate in getting gnu/hurd
installed on my laptop

If you would like more info, do let me know.

Thanks,

K Shakthi
