It wouldn't be easy to diddle all those customizable fields over email.

You should, because this is what we use.  It can be used over
text-mode browsers, and there is really no excuse to not use it.
Personal preferences or inconveniences are no excuse.

I know where you are coming from, but the perfect bug tracking system
that fits everybody doesn't exist.  Everybody has to chip in and
compromise a bit, and that's what I do at least.

I am sure the Savannah people will appreciate every help they can get
in improving the system to make it more accessible to other modes of
operation.
