Try  `--font 8x13.bdf' instead of  `--font=8x13.bdf'.  The argument
parsing of the vga driver is not according to the GCS.

To be honest, I do not know.  What is the output of the locale
program?

Oh, good to know. :)

Does it work exactly like the "ru" keymap in XFree?  I tried testing
the "ru" keymaps but it could've been that I missed some things
because it does not make much sense to me. :)

If you have any problems, please let me know and I will fix it.  Can I
send you the newest xkb plugin when I have it ready or are you
subscribed to this list so you will see when I announce it?
