Well, duh. Whatever it is, you have some command (such as typing it twice)
that sends it raw. But C-\ is a much better choice than C-a or C-w for
anyone who is not obviously a raving lunatic. Oh wait, I'm a raving lunatic.
That *other* kind of raving lunatic, I mean.
