Hi,
I had errors too with the emulated VGA card. It doesn't seem too
important. (And maybe the errors are not VGA errors, but hardware
detection errors that interfer with the emulated VGA card ??? The
problem is io read from adress 0x3c0 with a length of 2 bytes. I can't
check it, but it could be interesting to have a look at it...)

I have news :
I've installed Debian GNU/Hurd H2 on bochs (using only cd 1 for the
moment) !! (Last time, it was F2)

_ALL_ works : install, native_install, initial.sh and second.sh !!!

Here are some informations to help you : my processor is a Duron 800,
and bochs is running at 1 Mips (it could be faster), with 64MB of
emulated RAM, no pci, no sb16, no ne2000 (i will try them later :p ).
I had ipc errors too, but changing the boot to single-user or multi-user
(i don't remember) can help you. For this install (H2), i didn't have
this problem at all. I don't think emulation speed to be the problem.
Which release did you use ?
At first (before running initial.sh) i used the 1.3 release of bochs,
but there have been many ehancements, so i downloaded the CVS this
afternoon, and it works much better. Try it !

I will update the snapshots later :)

Regards,

olivier
