Did you try this with gnumach, OSKit-Mach or both?

In your mail you talk about i386/i386at/com.c, which isn't in my
OSKit-Mach tree. I suggest you try out OSKit-Mach because remote
debugging works AFAIK (I haven't tried yet) and that uses the serial
port.
