AFAIK, glibc was written by Roland for the Hurd from the ground up,
and later it was extended to cover Linux as well.

Yes.

Ben updates the package to current CVS frequently, and I compile it for the
Hurd a bit less frequently.

There are none currently, and usually aren't.
