BTW, I think this was caused by an interface change between 2.0 and 2.2
Linux kernels, at least this part of the code was not touched in the last
years. We have to be careful when incorporating new changes, as Linux
kernels not only break interfaces ad libitum, but also don't keep
changelogs. *sigh*
I have seen one problem with apt, where it complains that select() returns
EINTR, and then it is unable to continue the download. After restarting apt
it works fine again.
