This looks good to me.
I came across another problem: During parallel builds (the norm nowadays), several lines of downloading get mixed, or even the progress numbers are mixed with lines of output from the compiler etc.. I do not see what to do about it (except for clearing out a complete line, so there is no output trailing after the percentage), and the progress indicator can still be used to indicate problems when nothing progresses.
