Follow-up Comment #4, bug #39750 (project grub):

source, and from testing and verifying that this code works.

I'd be happy to drop the BSD disklabel support from the patch, since I have no
way of testing it (I just copied it from the assumed-working previous GRUB
code), but the BIOS disk support most definitely works and fixes the observed
regression.
