Hi,
don't know if this is the right place to ask this question, but have recently installed ubuntu on my acer aspire 7720 laptop. Internet would not work wirelessly, so it was suggested that I updated ubuntu. All I get now on start up is the following screen message and I can't find a way past.

GNU GRUB version 1.98 - 1ubuntu12
Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word,TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device or file completions.
grub>

If I press the tab key I get a long string of words which make absolutely no sense to me! The only command it seems to recognise is 'reboot'.

Any ideas, or could you please suggest who I can ask who can explain it in words of one syllable?
Kind regards,
Paul
