On the mailing list, Ingo Schwarze noted that some links to nodes of groff's
Texinfo have gone stale since version 1.23.0 was put online, since some nodes
have been renamed.

Texinfo maintainer Gavin Smith pointed out that Texinfo has a feature that
could help keep "stale" node names working.

Produce a list of all node names in 1.22.4's manual that no longer exist in
1.23.0, and add @anchor points for each. (No need to be robotic about it:
some nodes were stubs with no content in 1.22.4 and for years previous. It
doesn't seem any worse to feed people an HTTP 404 than a node devoid of
content.)

If we do a 1.23 point release, this change might be worth backporting.
