Hello,
I'm trying to build IceCat from source in a i686 Pentium M. My OS is not
one of the usual distros, but a Linux system also build from scratch, with
a X11 + xfce desktop.
In the first attempt, configuration ran well, but after several hours of
compilation, a fatal error happened in relation with LD. Unfortunately I've
lost the exact output.
In this second attempt I have studied the output of the configure command
and I would like to comment four issues detected as std errors:
1.--------------------------------------
which: no ld.gold in (/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin)
2.--------------------------------------
checking for dbus-glib-1 >= 0.60... yes
checking MOZ_DBUS_GLIB_CFLAGS... -I/usr/include/dbus-1.0
-I/usr/lib/dbus-1.0/include -I/usr/include/glib-2.0
-I/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include
checking MOZ_DBUS_GLIB_LIBS... -ldbus-glib-1 -ldbus-1 -lgobject-2.0
-lglib-2.0
<built-in>: fatal error: when writing output to : Broken pipe
compilation terminated.
3.----------------------------------------
checking for gthread-2.0... yes
checking MOZ_GTHREAD_CFLAGS... -pthread -I/usr/include/glib-2.0
-I/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include
checking MOZ_GTHREAD_LIBS... -lgthread-2.0 -pthread -lglib-2.0
<built-in>: fatal error: when writing output to : Broken pipe
compilation terminated.
4.-----------------------------------------
==============================
ERROR PROCESSING MOZBUILD FILE
==============================
The error occurred while processing the following file:
/sources/xfce_app/icecat-52.3.0/moz.build
The underlying problem is we referenced a path that does not exist. That
path is:
/sources/xfce_app/icecat-52.3.0/browser/branding/unofficial/moz.build
Either create the file if it needs to exist or do not reference it.
I've solved it by simply copying official directory to a new unofficial. I
work to avoid the warning (but I don't know the final consecuences).
In fact, for the first attempt I did it so, and the configure process ended
apparently well ($?=0)
As the make process takes so long, I would like to have some help or advice
before the next attempt.
Tank you / gracias.
