Gnash: how do I install it actually? |

Hi!
I use GNU IceCat on openSUSE 11.1/Gnome or KDE. I was not interested
in support Adobe Flash animations before, because I don’t like all
those banners etc, but things have changed and I want to watch some
online movies in Flash. OK, I have downloaded the fresh IceCat 3.6.2,
unpacked it to ~/bin/IceCat, launched and got to a site with Flash
movies (for example, [1]). I see ‘Click here to download plugin’ and
click. I see a pop-up window saying ‘Available Plugin Downloads / The
following plugins are available: Gnash 0.8.7’. I click ‘Next’, confirm
that I agree with the license, click ‘Next’ again and see: ‘Completing
the Plugin Finder Service / No plugins were installed / Gnash 0.8.7
Not Available / Manual Install’. When I click on ‘Manual Install’, a
new browser windows is opened (why not a new tab?) and I’m redirected
to ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gnash/0.8.6/ (why not to …/0.8.7?). OK, I
have used Yast2 and installed gnash 0.8.4 (then manually downloaded
and installed 0.8.5 with RPM), but IceCat does not seem to catch it.
Is there anything else that I can do?
The Wiki page [2] does not provide any instructions. It mentions:
First, remove and backup the Gnash plugin's symbolic link to IceCat:
sudo mv /usr/lib/icecat/plugins/libgnashplugin.so /usr/lib/icecat/
I thought, I could find libgnashplugin.so in /usr/lib/gnash (to
create a symbolic link to /plugins in my IceCat installation
directory), but I can’t.
Best regards,
Dmitri Gabinski
