Follow-up Comment #5, bug #29764 (project gnustep):

As far as I can tell, there's no API to get the original path from an NSURL
... so if OSX is doing that, I guess it must be using some private API.
Possibly we could work under debug to reverse-engineer that ... but we don't
store the  original string, so t would be quite a rewrite.
