Details:

NSKeyedArchiver raises an exception if you ask it to encode an array:

    char foo[4];
    [coder encodeValueOfObjCType:@encode(typeof(foo)) at:&foo];

but NSArchiver handles it fine. (Well, not optimally, as it encodes the
length too, which is wasteful, but at least it works and doesn't throw an
exception.)
