I've finally recovered from my mail disaster and it seems like
everything is looking well again.
Good news: I've been able to get Palladino fonts working
reliably. I've checked my work into gnupress/texpress/palatino.tex
The simplest way to get things working is to change the first line of
any TeXinfo manual from:
\input texinfo @c -*-texinfo-*-
to
\input texinfo @c -*-texinfo-*-
@input palatino
Of course. There are some other niggly details. First you
ought to checkout palatino.tex. We'll assume you've got it in
~/gnupress/texpress/palatino.tex Then, all you have to do is tell TeX
that it exists when you create your DVI.
$ TEXINPUTS=~/gnupress/texpress:$TEXINPUTS make dvi
It should work. Tell me if there are any issues.
Simon
