Why does it make it more useful?
With latest coreutils/gnulib, git diff now gives the following
(I'm probably doing something wrong as I know little about submodules)
diff --git a/.gitmodules b/.gitmodules
index bb9e1ba..5a4e3d5 100644
--- a/.gitmodules
+++ b/.gitmodules
@@ -1,3 +1,3 @@
[submodule "gnulib"]
path = gnulib
- url = git://git.sv.gnu.org/gnulib.git
+ url = /home/padraig/git/gnulib
cheers,
