I am trying to answer mail that got left behind during the year.
Please forgive the long time it took to respond to this.
libltdl is not currently strictly LGPL. It provides a special
exception which allows non-GPL and non-LGPL packages to distribute it
using the same terms as that package. If libltdl becomes dependent on
LGPL (or GPL) code, then this exception is no longer useful and many
packages would have to stop using libltdl.
This means just copying the code even from GNU libc would not be allowed.
If it serves the purpose of the FSF, I can authorize a license change
of the code from Glibc or Gnulib, to put it into libltdl. Please show
me the code in question and I will think about the issue.
