    If memory serves there are several minor differences
    between the two that ought to be reconciled at some point.  

When I first looked at all of Jim's files poured into gnulib, I compared
the files that were common between it and glibc.  I don't think a single
one was the same, and the fixes were not trivial, at least not to me.
Sometimes there were completely different implementations of the same
function, more often there were include file/preprocessor differences.

I can reconstruct that and send you the diffs if you're interested.
