cvs -z3 -d:pserver:address@hidden:/sources/gnubg co gnubg
works for me on linux, but windows should be the same. So if this
doesn't work you are probably being blocked by a firewall (your own or
your isp's).
putty is only needed if you have ssh access, i.e. if you have a proper
account on savannah with a registered ssh key. Then you could use
something similar to:
set CVS_RSH=%GNU%\cvs\putty\plink.exe
cvs -z3 -d:ext:<membername>@cvs.savannah.gnu.org:/sources/gnubg co <modulename>
